St. Mary's County College Access Program (SMC CAP)-- Website in process (10-26-2009) a program offered in each of the county's three public comprehensive high schools. Trained advisors provide weekly lessons at lunch time to students who need extra support during their junior and senior year to learn about and take the steps needed to get into college or other post-secondary education. SMC CAP is a partner with BECA, working together to increase the number of students from the county who obtain bachelor's degrees.
