February 8, 2010. We are sorry, but the FAFSA Help event has now been postponed four times because of inclement weather. Currently, we have no time or place, but will work to find one and will write to inform those who were registered.

Documents suggested when completing your FAFSA:

Social Security number, driver’s license number and date of birth |
2009 federal and state tax returns (or 2008 if you haven’t fled yet |
W-2 forms and/or other records of income earned in 2009 (or your last pay stub from 2009 if you haven’t fled yet). |
Current bank statements and investment records. |
Records of untaxed income received in 2009 (e.g., veterans benefts, child support received, etc.). |
2009 business and farm records. |
Alien registration number, if not a U.S. citizen. |
A federal personal identifcation number (PIN) is recommended, but not required. |

BECA is the organization that created and processes the St. Mary's County Common Scholarship Application, which allows students to apply for numerous local scholarships with just one application. Over $1,000,000 in scholarships has been awarded through this application since 2007.
The final 2010 version of the St. Mary's Common Scholarship Application is now available. Click here see the page holding the 2010 Common Application. The application must be returned to BECA by March 15, 2010. NEW....the fillable PDF is now posted and ready to use.
BECA held its Fourth Annual Scholarship Fair on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center. 482 students and parents/guardians attended, learning about the Common Application and meeting the Common Application scholarship providers.
FAFSA SUNDAY. St. Mary's County Public Schools' College Access Program (CAP), The Financial Aid Office of St. Mary's College Of Maryland, The St. Mary's County Library, and BECA will host Help with FAFSA for Financial Aid on Sunday, January 31st, from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Lexington Park Library.
